New Location - Kitchener Ontario

Now you can have Safari Science in Oakville and in Kitchener Ontario.

The new Kitchener location is awesome, it's inside THEMUSEUM, right down town.

The Museum features a Safari Science reptile display on the second floor. Visit for regular meet the zookeeper events, reptile shows and more.

This great news for everyone. Safari Science now has expanded its "local" area, so shows in the Kitchener area will be the same as our local area shows near Oakville Ontario.

Check out this time laps video of the display case setup, and remember to visit us @themuseum

Vietnamese Mossy Tree Frog

Hi! My name is Pickles and I am a Vietnamese Mossy Tree Frog. I am also called a Mossy Frog for short.

Frogs like me come from Vietnam, but I was born in Canada. My species are endangered due to habitat loss, but thanks to captive breeding my species will be safe for a long time.

In the wild you can find me in flooded caves and banks of mountain streams. I have sticky discs under each of my toes, making me excellent at climbing. I often climb trees and the walls of caves. You can find me as high as 1,500 metres high off the ground!

My skin is covered with many tubercles and spines, which are the wart-like things on my body. The colour and texture of my skin looks like a clump of moss, giving me the perfect camouflage.

Did you know?
The Vietnamese Mossy Tree Frog has the most elaborate camouflage in the whole animal kingdom.

Reptile Rob and Wyatt Jam #1

Reptile Rob and Wyatt decided to get together to improvise a song about Safari Science, and it just so happens that the video camera was rolling. Having fun is part of what we do at Safari Science!

What will happen at summer camp?

Reptile Rob and Wyatt chat about Camp Safari Science summer camp in Oakville Ontario, coming up for 2012. Each day of camp is either a workshop day or a field trip day. Workshops have an entertaining lesson followed by games and a take home project. In the afternoon on workshop days we also have stations including building, critters and science. We go on 2 trips per week at summer camp, Wednesday trips are at a local conservation area and the Friday trips are to a place like the ROM, Science Centre, Toronto Zoo and more!

You can register for camp online or by calling 905-901-4848
