About
Safari Science camps are made to excite children about learning in a fun and friendly atmosphere. To keep things interesting each week has a unique theme with trips and activities based around it. In addition to the thematic programming theme, Safari Science camp has many daily activities that our campers cant get enough of.

Trips
Each week of camp is different in regards to field trips. Please refer to the camp schedule for specific trip details. Below are a few of the places we like to vist.

  • The Royal Ontario Museum
  • The Ontario Science Centre
  • Conservation Areas (Bronte, Kelso, Mountsburg etc.)
  • Crock a Doodle
  • Heroes Academy (an outdoor facility)
  • Skating (private club)
  • Swimming (private club)

Our Teaching Philosophy

  • Learning though hands on and entertaining instruction is the best way to teach
  • Build children up for trying new things, applying new knowledge and participation
  • Provide children with the means to share with their camp experience with their parents

Camp Policies

Age Groups
Campers are divided into pods based on age. Pods will do activities on their own and also with other pods. This way participants can learn and do activities according to thier level.

4 to 5 years old (jk or sk student)
6 to 8 year olds
9 to 12 year olds
L.I.T. (Leaders in Training) 13 to 16 years of age

Staff to Camper Ratio

  • Minimum 2 staff with at least one adult (university or older)
  • Minimum Ratio for 4 to 5 year olds is 1:6
  • Minimum Ratio for 6 and up is 1:12


Staff Qualifications
All our camp leaders are receive extensive training in:

  • Programming
  • Working with children
  • First aid and safety

Police Checks
All Safari Science staff have up to date police checks.

Camp Size
Full day camp maximum is 32 children
Half day camp maximum is 16 children

Full, Single Full Day & Half Day: Safari Science, Oakville Ontario 1290 Speers Rd. Oakville Ontario

Transportation
First Student of Canada is our transportation provider.

Cost Per Child per Week
A typical 9am to 4pm camp week is $249-$299 per child (based on duration, location, trips, guests and activities planned)
Extended Care is $5 per hour (rounded up to the next hour) and is recorded during the week and billed the last day of camp
